It has been said that a name is worth a thousand words. Many have said this is true. I agree. A name characterizes the statute of a person. It could also show history. What the person is meant to do in life. Or, how a person came to be known by a certain name. In any case picking a name is a very important step for a parent. I believe it’s even more important when picking a baby boy names.
The research is clear that a strong baby boy name will carry till the adult hood of a boy. It calls into question for the parent what they believe the boy will do in his lifetime. Will he follow in the family business? Will he become a doctor? It could also bring into question what day was he born on? Was he born on Easter? A religious holiday, in this case would he be called David, Paul, or Jesus?

- Try to be unique – It is a shame to follow behind the crowd and name a child a common name. Something like Tom or Sue. These names have been around for years and a little over used. Try to find a unique name that speaks to the unique nature of your child.
- Make sure to have the name match the gender of the child. – For Gods sakes please don’t name your child Mary when you know that child is a boy. You get the picture. This will have the boy seeing a psychologist by the age of 14. He will be teased till he grows up and by then he may be damaged for life.
- Last but not least, find a name that people can spell and pronounce. I don’t know how many times I have heard names that I would have had not idea of how to spell or pronounce the name. Don’t you think it will be hard enough for the boy to make sense of this world with trying to spend weeks trying to spell his own name?
